San Diego Jewelry Appraisal<\/h2>\n

In many cases, jewelry is both beautiful and valuable; it is an investment as well as an accessory. For insurance purposes, for peace of mind, and for resale purposes, it may be advisable to have a professional gemologist look at your jewelry to determine its true value. This process is called a Jewelry Appraisal. Be aware that the price you paid to purchase the jewelry may not be the same as its actual value.<\/p>\n

Who is qualified to do a San Diego jewelry appraisal? A gemologist is qualified to examine your jewelry and establish its quality (what is it?). An appraiser can assign a monetary value to the jewelry based on his knowledge of the market and its desirability (what is it worth?). A gemologist-appraiser is the best person to do an appraisal because he can do both jobs: evaluate the quality of the jewelry and place a value on the items.<\/p>\n

The gemologist-appraiser should have formal education in gemology and have years of experience in the industry. \u00a0He should be accredited with various gemological associations and be familiar with the latest developments such as, for example, synthetic diamonds. \u00a0A solid reputation among his peers will indicate that the appraiser adheres to professional guidelines and ethical standards.<\/p>\n
